The Professional Institute of Dental Assisting, Inc. offers an alternative to a 4 year commitment to a college or even a one year commitment to a technical college. You can train for a challenging career as a dental assistant in as little as 8 weeks.

Your tuition for the eight week course includes:

  • Twenty intensive training sessions. Two evenings weekly and one Saturday weekly for eight weeks

  • Dental Assisting Textbook

  • Course Syllabus

  • Notes on all lecture material

  • All training aids, instruments and materials for clinical phase of course

  • Employment Advisory Postings

  • Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of course

Class size is limited to ensure an adequate teacher/student ratio. Classes are filled on a basis of receipt of completed Registration Application and successfully completing the interview process. Upon notification of acceptance into the program, full payment is due within ten days. All payments will be made prior to the start of the first class session.

Beginning your new career you will learn:

  • Four-handed chairside dental assisting in all phases of Dentistry:

    Oral Surgery

    Crown and Bridges




    Cosmetic Dentistry

  • Dental Theory and Terminology, Dental/Oral Anatomy, Tooth Numbering System

  • Radiology, X-ray Theory, Technique; How to take bitewing and periapical x-rays; How to develop x-rays using the automatic processor; How to mount x-rays; X-ray safety precautions

  • Dental Examinations; Charting Restorations and Periodontal Pockets; Coronal Polishing; Fluoride application; Use of the Intra Oral Camera

  • Impression and Model Trimming

  • OSHA requirements; Sterilization procedures

  • Operating autoclaves and other equipment needed to sterilize instruments and treatment areas

Your training will also focus on:

  • Assistant Equipment Usage

  • Chair Positioning

  • Instrument Transfer

  • Oral Evacuation

  • Clinical Observation

  • Actual Hands On Assisting

  • Patient Education

  • How to Maintain a Treatment Room

  • Job Interview Assistance

  • Proper image, Dress, Resume and how to prepare for an Interview

Classes are held on evenings and Saturdays

  • So you can continue your present job while you train for your new career

Classes are 8 weeks

  • Wednesdays 5:00pm - 8:30pm

  • Thursdays 5:00pm - 8:30pm

  • Saturdays 8:00am - 12:30pm

All Classes are taught by practicing Dentist and staff

  • Using state of the art equipment and the latest techniques
