Employment stats

Some 161,000 dentists jobs, held in 2006. Employment is distributed among general practitioners and specialists.

Of all the dentists who are already working in the application, the third part is self-employed and unincorporated, and the rest is working in private practice. According to the ADA, approximately 3 out of 4 dentists in private practice are sole proprietors, and 1 in 7 belongs to an association. Some dentists employees working in hospitals and medical offices.

The following table presents information for 2006 and projections to 2016, as same as the change from 2006 to 2016. Employment data that shows the distribution of total employment of nearly 700 occupations in more than 260 industries.
