Dental School Admissions
According to the place you decide to study, there are many differences you will find in the school and whole the process it involves in order you can be a Dental Professional.
For example, in the United States Dental schools or programs are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA); while in Canada, dental schools are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada.
The majority of dental schools in the United States and some dental schools in Canada are included in centralized admissions programs. In general, all Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) must be submitted online, approximately 16 months before the desired date to beginning the studies.
The Dental Admission Test (DAT) is a standardized test, taken to U.S. dental school applicants. The test is administered by the American Dental Association (ADA). The DAT measures general academic skills, scientific knowledge and the ability of perception. The Dental Association of Canada operates a similar test called the Dental Aptitude Test.
Admissions committees reviews both records and academic preparation of the applicants, including also DAT scores, letters of reference and performance at personal interviews. Some extra advantage have all those applicants who have worked as volunteers or made their practices in a dental clinic.
